Great Truckin' Songs of the Renaissance is the first demo tape by This Is Serious Mum, containing nine songs recorded by the newly-founded band on 30 December 1982 at the home of friend (and future member) Ron Hitler-Barassi.
For this session, This Is Serious Mum consisted of vocalist/percussionist Humphrey B. Flaubert, keyboardist Eugene de la Hot-Croix Bun and bassist/guitarist Jock Cheese. The name of the demo tape would later be re-used for the band's debut studio album, Great Truckin' Songs of the Renaissance, in 1988.
The demo has never been released in its entirety, however its first four songs have been issued on official releases: "The Ballad of the Semitic Nazi" was excerpted on the 1988 album, and later released in full on the limited edition of the 2002 compilation Best Off, along with three further tracks: "Eckermann is Very Silly", "Yassa Arathin-A-Go-Go" and "I Go to Werribee".
